What better way to welcome in the New Year than a family trip to Kauai? We have rented a beautiful house in Kilauea about a mile from the beach. Our original plan was to take all the kids and grandkids; however, we will be missing Michael’s daughter and her husband – Amanda and Henry – because they will be at home in Bozeman, Montana awaiting the birth of their first child (and our fourth GRANDDAUGHTER)! We are sorry they can’t join us (baby is due mid-January, too close for flying across the country), but we are thrilled that we will have another sweet baby girl joining the family soon!
There are 11 travelers this trip – Michael and I, son Rob and his girlfriend, Karen, Rob’s girls Hailey and Lexi, Karen’s kids Jake and Kenzie, son Brian and wife Natalie and their daughter Brittney. It will be great fun to have a house full of teens and young adults — my favorite ages (16, 16, 19, 19, 22). The house we rented is incredible! As always, our home security system will be fully activated, a full time house sitter on site, and our three vicious guard dogs at the ready! Burglars and thieves beware!
We leave two days after Christmas. I will be sharing our adventures and fun times as we take in the warm sun and beautiful sandy beaches on Kauai — my favorite Hawaiian Island.
